What it Means
Write

Writing a put option or call option refers to an investment contract in which a fee is received for giving another person the right to buy or sell shares at a future date. An options writer is also called the option seller. The option writer gets the maximum profit of the total premium received but his total losses can be unlimited if the price movement goes adverse. That is why writing options always must be hedged or must be done with strict stop losses.

Withdrawal of offer

Withdrawal of offer refers to the abrupt cessation of an IPO. The fact is that withdrawal of Initial Public Offer (IPO) application can be done even after the issue closure! The offer can be withdrawn if the response is much lower than what was anticipated, in which case the collected money has to be refunded to the investors in full.

Writer

Writer or an options is also called the seller of an option. The writer of an option contract writes or sells the call or put option in order to earn the premium, which is the fee that the purchaser pays the writer. A writer of a call option promises to sell the underlying investment to the call purchaser, who has bought the right to purchase it at a specific price. Writer of a put option promises to buy the underlying. Losses on writing of options are unlimited which is why writers normally have an underlying hedge position or they ensure that stop losses are maintained.

Warehouse receipts

A warehouse receipt is a document that provides proof of ownership of commodities (e.g., bars of copper) that are stored in a warehouse, vault, or depository for safekeeping. Warehouse receipts may be negotiable or non-negotiable. Since large volumes of commodities can be physically moved, the warehouse receipts are used as a proxy for ownership transfer.

Warehousing

Warehousing is the act of storing goods that will be sold or distributed later. While a small, home-based business might be warehousing products in a spare room, basement, or garage, larger businesses typically own or rent space in a building that is specifically designed for storage. Warehousing is one of the key support services to trade and commerce.
